Video Archiving
Locating and retrieving the high-value content of film and video tape libraries is an overly difficult and time-consuming process. A searchable, shareable, digital video archive is the ideal solution, but until now, has required expensive and complex proprietary systems.
Breece Hill’s Video Archive Server provides a powerful yet economical alternative. By combining XenData’s Archive Series™ Video Edition software with Pictron’s Media Gateway™ product suite, this video archive appliance provides powerful media management tools including automatic scene change detection, customizable metadata entry, and remote search by frames, transcripts, storyboards, metadata and keywords.
In addition, it contains a robust suite of archive management features.
- Policy based file management allows low resolution proxies to be kept permanently online with RAID, while high resolution broadcast media is held near-line on digital tapes within the library.
- De-migration of files from RAID permits compact offline storage on inexpensive digital media, with unlimited support for offline media.
- Automatic replica tape cartridge copies are created for off-site retention and disaster recovery, with the protection of Write-Once-Read-Many (WORM) media for optimum security.
Breece Hill’s Video Archive Server is a sleek, 4-U chassis with more than 3 terabytes of capacity on SATA-based RAID, a robotic digital data tape library that holds up to 5 terabytes of online tape, and a high end dual Xeon server. The appliance provides newer, low cost data management tools that are tightly integrated with the Windows Server 2003 operating system.
This open standard data storage application, integrated and optimized for video archive, gives you a high performance system capabilities:
- Complete protection of your high-value media assets
- Fast, reliable retrieval
